Health Research Guidelines

Health Research Guidelines
The Ministry of Health and Family welfare in their press release announced that a separate department has been set up for health research.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is primarily responsible for medical research in India. During the last 97 years, the ICMR has responded effectively to the changing health needs of the country by developing infrastructure and has built capacities to meet newer challenges in health research and healthcare industry of global standards.

The current health scenario in the country calls for a much closer interaction with health systems and disease control programmes supported by the continued utilization of the scientific and technological advances. The present structure of the ICMR does not facilitate meeting of some of the challenges to its fullest potentials. In order to build upon and effectively utilize the research capacity and capabilities to engage in effective health systems research, conduct research into social determinants of health and develop technologies and products that respond to national health priorities, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has now set up a separate department of Health Research.

By setting up the new Department, the Ministry hopes to put research on the fulcrum of the Common Minimum Programme by setting up a Health Research System (HRS) as an overarching mechanism for co-ordination. The Department would provide leadership and support in generation of new knowledge, improve medical and health research in medical colleges and medical schools and help in providing inputs for operationalization of disease control programmes. It would address the manpower and infrastructure needs for medical and health research in India and assess the health technology and health sciences developed in the country and take these up at various levels of Government to translate the research results into policy and also better articulate the policies of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in furthering its programmes and policies.

The Health Research Department will be able to interact effectively with the policy makers so that the health investment policies and interventions are based on scientific input. lnter-agency partnerships and co-ordination is expected to improve through better interaction with Secretaries of Scientific Departments like the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Ocean Development and Department of Defence Research Development. This would enable smoother transition of technologies and products developed by other S&T agencies into the health sector and avoid fragmentation and duplication of efforts. The Department would be able to build stronger and effective partnerships especially those bridging public and private initiatives and create structures such as the Technology Development Board, and others for better public private interaction for health technology implementation.

Ocean Engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the design, analysis and operation planning of systems that operate in an oceanic environment. In other works, it is a combination of the classical discipline s such as civil mechanical and electrical engineering,. Examples of systems range form oil platforms to submarine, from breakwaters to sailboats. What separates ocean engineers form other is the ability to solve compiles issue including hydrodynamics, marine acoustics, offshore engineering, marine robotics and naval architecture. The Ocean Engineering field much likes chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, whereas the latter is an earth science. The Ocean engineers solve problems and design for their environment either on the harsh ocean surface or at crushing depth. Meanwhile, the role of an oceanographer include monitoring the inner workings of marine ecosystems, plate tectonics, ocean currents and geology of the sea floor. The two-discipline work closely together to find answers intricate ocean problems.

Employment opportunities exist with private industry, defense contractors, consulting firs, and government agencies. You army find your in the offshore oil industry, environmental protection, ocean monitoring, developing renewable energy, underwater vehicles, ocean mapping, design structures, marine transportation, or designing, ships. Typical ocean engineering application areas include beach protection an nourishment, coastal structure, coastal erosion, development of ocean energy resource, instrumentation for coastal and offshore measurements, marine dredging and dredged material placement, moored and towed systems, ocean mining, offshore petroleum recovery, offshore structure, ports and harbors, search and salvage, suspended and dissolved constituent transport, subsea pipeline and cables, submersible vehicles, and underwater acoustics. So what it tasks to be an ocean engineering a pass in the final examination under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with mathematics, physics and chemistry or 3 year diploma in Engineering. Ozone Therapy

Ozone Therapy
Ozone Therapy is not a new therapy. It is invented by Germans and is practiced in Germany for over 100 years. Germany, Italy, France, Russia are the European nations where it is legalized. Japan, Cuba, Lain American countries and our neighbors like Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, etc are also using it. It was also used extensively in USA before the World War I following which political pressure by Pharma Giants has prevented its growth in USA.

Ozone mainly interacts with blood components to produce its effects. It acts on RBCs and increases its glucose uptake. It stimulates RBC’s metabolism and make them energetic. It makes their cell membrane more elastic and pliable which means improved circulation. It causes RBCSs to release more Oxygen at tissue level. It relaxes blood vessel cells, opening up small capillaries; further improving circulation. WBCs are stimulated to improve immunity. Ozone stimulates Anti-Oxidant enzymes in the body to fight effectively against oxidative stress. It kills all sorts of bacteria, viruses and fungi. It burns toxins and provide more Oxygen to cells. It rejuvenates the entire body.

A lot of research is taking place in Ozone Therapy. We know the exact treatment protocols for many diseases. It is not an experimental therapy but a well established, scientific, alternative therapy. Ozone Therapy practitioners are called CAM Practitioners, i.e., Complementary and Alternative Medical Practitioners.

Ozone Therapy is especially useful for old age diseases, chronic diseases, allergies, cancers and all sorts of infections. It is added to the standard treatment for the disease . We have very successfully treated diabetic foot, non healing ulcers, osteo arthritis nee joint, Parkinson’s disease, all type of cancers, common cold, sinusitis, back aches, acne, Herpes, burns, psoriasis, eczema, vaginal infections, heart diseases, stroke, etc.

Ozone Therapy is mainly used as supportive therapy. Patient continues whatever treatment he is taking an adjust adds ozone Therapy to it. Ozone Therapy helps to control or cure disease or symptoms which were otherwise not helped by only conventional treatment. It reduces the adverse effects, reduces the treatment time and improves quality of life for the patient.

It is given by many ways EXCEPT INHALATION. One must not inhale Ozone as one will immediately start coughing. Plus it has a very bad smell. In fact there are two dozen ways in which Ozone Therapy can be given.

Ozonated water is prepared by bubbling Ozone through cold water for 15 minutes. This water can be drunk for peptic ulcer diseases. It can be used to improve digestion and is wonderful for cancer patients. As half life of Ozone is only 20 minutes, it is to be consumed as soon as it is prepared. It also has excellent anti-inflammatory properties and its soaks are particularly useful in burns, sprains, insect-bites, post-op wounds, etc.

Ozonated Oil is the only preparation of Ozone which can be made now and used later. In Europe, Olive oil is used. In Cuba, sunflower oil is used. We, in India use Sesame (Til) oil. Ozone is bubbled through the oil and then this Ozonated Oil is stored in refrigerator for one year. This oil has excellent germicidal and anti inflammatory properties. It also helps would healing.

Ozone can be given externally by bagging, cupping, Ozonated steam sauna, etc. Here, affected part is put inside a plastic bag and Ozone is put in that bag. This method is excellent for all sorts of wounds, ulcers, abscesses, skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, etc. Ozonated stem sauna is excellent for rejuvenation and detoxification. It is also used as a form of systemic Ozone Therapy and is excellent for cancer.

Ozone is very conveniently given by rectal rout, somewhat similar to enema. It is an excellent way of receiving Ozone for any type of systemic illness. A small plastic tube is passed up the anus and Ozone is given for about 5 minutes. It is totally painless quick and easy procedure and extremely effective. Ozone can be given in vagina in the same way. Ozone can also be given in ears by putting stethoscope in the ears and connecting lower end of the stethoscope to the Ozone generator.

Ozone injections are excellent for pain relief. Osteo arthritis, frozen shoulder, back ache, slipped disc – all respond beautifully to Ozone injections.

Autohemotherapy is the procedure in which Ozone is mixed with the blood outside the body and is re-injected in the vein (in Major Autohemotherapy) or muscle (in Minor Autohemotherapy). These are very popular ways of giving Ozone in Europe. They are excellent for chronic diseases and allergies.

Ozone is bubbled through saline and given as Intravenous Ozonated Saline drip. It is the most popular way of giving Ozone in Russia.

Effect of Ozone Therapy is quick, lasting and usually without any complications. Ozone molecule breaks down into Oxygen which is needed by each and every cell. That is why it has no side effects. However, Ozone is not given during active bleeding. It increases the duration of bleeding. Ozone is to be avoided in G6PD enzyme deficiency as it acts through this enzyme.

Ozone is different from hyperbaric Oxygen. It causes oxygenation as well as oxidation. The machine is portable compared to scary, tunnel like machine of hyperbaric Oxygen. It is much cheaper than the later.

Mostly, Ozone is given for 10 procedures. 10 procedures make one cycle. Ozone Therapy is given two or three times a week. So, once cycle may take 3 to 5 weeks. For most chronic diseases, Ozone Therapy is given at last twice a year. Most Ozone treatment takes less than 10 minutes. Sauna, bagging, Intravenous Ozonated Saline take about 30-40 minutes.

Ozone is nature’s way to clear pollution from environment. Ozone can also be used to clean up our internal environment, helping us to lead healthy, energetic and fuller life.

The Individual in Indian Thought System: Implications for Indian Psychology and Education

The Individual in Indian Thought System: Implications for Indian Psychology and Education

The Ancient Indian Thought System has been extraordinary in the sense that it has treated an Individual as a subject, emphasizing self-consciousness, free-will and self-determination as his or her exclusive endowment. The Individual has been conceived as the meeting ground of the divinity and humanity, the Avyakta and the Vyakta. Advait reaches the startling conclusion that finite has no reality in an ultimate reference and the Individual could not be ascribed to a being in which all finite personalities merged without retaining a vestige of their distinctive experiences. Nyaya-Vaisesika and Purva- Mimamasa postulate plurality of souls, whereas Samkhya reduces all psychological principles to duality of Prakriti and Purusa only. Almost every school of thought which is more of an interpretation rather than a construction of reality, has not only conceptualized the pivotal position of Individuality, but has followed it up with the delineation of a schemata for the development of the Individual in close accordance with the reality postulated. This mapping of a course of development, in the form of a discipline (anubandha and anusasna), is a unique feature which, sustained by a system of education, presents a formidable way of thought and action evidenced in Indian Philosophy. According to Indian Thought System, the process of development of the Individual has to take cognizance of its realistic ontology and rationalistic epistemology, the former defining the ‘end’ and latter the ‘means’. This leaves us with a formidable task of identifying the postulates that characterize the Individual and his or her development in more familiar idioms and usages and chart a process of accomplishment and practical discipline, geared to culminate in the final liberation of human spirit from its entanglement with world that binds man to the chariot wheels of phenomenal existence.
This concept is an attempt to visualize that the Individual is a complex construct which can truly be understood by the instrumentalities of self and Consciousness as figured in Indian Thought System. Modern psychology is trying to understand the concept of well being on the basis of corporal and social entities overlooking entire metaphysical entities which can truly reveal the content, intent, nature and structure of the Individuality. Also, the paper suggests some practical measures regarding the development of the Individual which can be pragmatically practised in the field of Indian Psychology and Education.
