(A) Qualifications & Experience:

Candidates not satisfying eligibility requirement for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor may be put on tenure track as Assistant Professor (on-contract). Candidates should have Ph.D. and first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
2. Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years of teaching / industry / research experience, of which at least three years' experience, should be at the level of Assistant Professor / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer.
3. Professor: Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years of experience, of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in any of the following Institutions: IIT, IISc Bangalore, IIM, NITIE Mumbai or IISER, or at an equivalent level in any such Indian or Foreign Institution of comparable standards as may be decided by IIT Indore.
(B) Pay structure:
1. Assistant Professor (On-contract): Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 - 39,100) with seventeen non- Compounded advance increments (minimum starting pay of Rs. 26,620/-) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band is Rs 77,359/- p.m. They will move after 1 year to Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 7,000/- p.m. in PB-3. And the total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 79,629/- p.m
2. Assistant Professor: Minimum pay of Rs. 30,000/- in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 - 39,100) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 8,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band is Rs 89,572/- p.m. On completion of 3 years service as Assistant Professor, shall move to Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/- p.m. And the total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 1,08,640/- p.m.
3. Associate Professor: To be appointed in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,500/- p.m. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the Pay Band-4 will be fixed at Rs. 42,800/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 1,22,033/- p.m.
4. Professor: To be appointed in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,500/- p.m. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the Pay Band will be fixed at Rs. 48,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 1, 36,107/- p.m.

One-Week Orientation Programme in SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH for Research Scholars and Teachers belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Marginalised Groups during March 02–07, 2015

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) will be organising a one-week 'Orientation Programme' during March 02–07, 2015 for research scholars and teachers from colleges and universities belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Marginalised Groups. The programme is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

The objective of the programme is to build research capacities with a special focus on marginalised groups in India. The programme is multi-disciplinary in nature that seeks to help the participants in three specific areas: i) to refresh their theoretical knowledge and contemporary issues of research on social exclusion and discrimination; ii) to equip them with advanced research methods and appropriate data to undertake research in social science; and iii) to impart knowledge of modern technology (ICT) in social science research and to disseminate their work effectively. The week-long programme will consist of lectures, policy debates, group discussions, exposure to databases and research methods along with hands-on exercises. Reputed academicians working on the problems related to education, skill development, health, employment, poverty, gender issues etc. with a specific focus on social exclusion will be invited to deliver lectures.

TARGET GROUP AND SELECTION PROCESS

The young social science researchers and teachers from colleges/universities belonging to any of the above social groups and interested in pursuing research related to social exclusion would constitute the target audience of this programme. A batch consisting of 25–30 participants will be selected based on their suitability on all India basis. The participants will get free boarding and lodging facility in the campus guest house on twin-sharing basis. Three-tier AC train fare by the shortest route will be reimbursed.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

The proposed five day workshop on the theme of “Intellectual Property and Public Health” will be co-hosted by Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Third World Network (TWN) and Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi. Some of the broad themes of the workshop-cum-conference would include: i) Intellectual property rights, access to medicines and linkages with industrial structure ii) International law – approaches, theory, policy and practice of patents iii) TRIPS – evolution, consequences and legal aspects; iv) Indian patent law and v) Biomedical innovation and innovation pathways. Specific issues underlying these themes are expected to focus on the implications for both industrial development and access to essential medicines.

TARGET GROUP AND SELECTION PROCESS

Participants of the workshop-cum-conference will be selected based on the qualifications, experience and interest in the area of law, public health, innovation and industrial development studies. Research scholars pursuing 4th/5th year law, Ph. D in relevant area in Indian universities/research institutions and mid-level professionals/ researchers in civil society organization are encouraged to apply. Applicants for the course will have to write an essay of one thousand words to be considered by the organizers for their selection. 
Out of the selected fifty (50) participants about fifteen (15) participants will be entitled to receive financial support to cover their cost of boarding and travel (equivalent to second AC train fare). Those selected will have to pay the course fee of Rupees 3,000 by March 1, 2015. ISID can offer, if required, financial support to all the other selected participants in the form of subsidised accommodation to enable them to participate in the proposed programme.

The Pay Scale is as per the University of Delhi/ University Grants Commission norms. Assistant Professors are recruited in the Pay Band - III of Rs. 15,600-39,100 with Academic-Grade Pay Rs. 6000 plus usual allowances as admissible from time to time.
Essential Qualifications for the posts of Assistant Professor
1. The eligibility criteria and qualifications are as per the University of Delhi/ University Grants Commission norms.
2. Qualification for posts in Elementary Education Department will be as per the applicable National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) norms.
3. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST /Persons with Disability viz. physically and visually disabled or those who passed their Masters degree prior to 19-09-1991 and hold a Ph.D degree) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
4. Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC (stale level eligibility test SLET/SET).
5. Candidates who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and procedure for awards of M. Phil/ Ph.D. degree). Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
6. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master's Degree Programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET accredited lest is not conducted.

General Note
1. The candidates applying under PwD category must specifically mention in application, the main category to which they belong i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC for the purpose of computing the reservation.
