The Internet Addiction is as like as Substance Abuse in Psychology. Addiction is a tendency to addict anything. Once you experiment with internet facility and finally it will kill you time for day to day life. We are very much disturb with when power goes off. Like wise, when system goes slow and net facility is not available then problems starts as like as craving tendency. At first time you are not aware of that you are not addicted to Internet but the day goes up you have the tendency like to spend hours in internet and are you unable to stop the net activity and having craving for to do with internet and find yourself as panicky or anxious whenever internet access is limited. These are some sign and symptoms of Internet Addiction. If you see it as seriously then you can find there is a reason that you may have the internet addiction. Your working style of internet communication and instructive games makes it difficult to keep time that you spent on internet. For internet addict we can see that the one who is hooked to online activities for hours, browsing, shopping, and playing game and operating virtual nightclub and parties, chatting, making new friends or gathering information. Slowly it will enter as daily routine to daily life but you may not know about the dangerous things that becomes as serious problems in your life. You will be always thinking what has to make for the next tern that obsessive things can become an issue of concern of family life relationships, co-relationships, occupational liability and many more. The excessive use of internet or compute is an addiction and it is scientifically proved. Even though, Internet addiction is not widely recognized by the medical community and majority of doctors prescribe to identify the Internet Addiction is as a behavior disorder or compulsivity rather than as internet addiction or cyberspace addiction. These habits cut short the level of activity that have to perform daily for all age groups.
Sign and Symptoms of Internet Addiction are: First it will start with withdrawal symptoms such as anger, irritability and craving are seen among internet addicts when internet access is restricted to them. The conversion becomes difficult as one takes the loss as frustrating and disappoint followed by argument for example for married people and parent child relationships. Psychiatrist had found out about these addiction have a psychological dependence on the Internet, and so there is a sent of losing it. The tendency to overuse a thing is high when one loses the control over the ability to think and act. If in human mind it is rewarding behavior; then one tends to repeats it and spend hours on the net. At a certain point one may realize of overdoing it but cannot come out of it. The same thing we can see in alcohol or tobacco addiction. Spending hours on Internet affects other aspects of life as well. Those addicted may sow lack of interest in discharging their family and office duties. Internet addiction among children may affect their academic performance. Besides, it leads to a decrease in physical activity, eating disorders, and sleep disturbance, besides spending money, the habit leads to eyestrain and mental fatigue.
Remedy for fighting Internet Addiction are: there are several ways of tackling this problems. These include prohibiting children from visiting cyber cafes, restricting them pocket money, disconnecting the access to internet and seeking help from counselors or psychiatrist. Doctors may recommend behavioral therapy like distraction strategy to find alternative ways of spending time and take up healthy activities. However, there are no specific guidelines for internet addiction and many doctors face difficulty in handling such cases. Some doctors think that there is a need for clinics or counseling centers specialized in handling the issue to treat this disorder. De-addiction camps can help and encourage other activities as alternative steps.
