  1. Shadow teaching (at school): Our shadow teachers are trained professionals who are physically available with the child at his/her school. This service can be availed for children who have adjustment problems at school, children who have difficulty communicating to the parents regarding the ongoing tasks at school and children who need individual instructions to keep up with school activities.
  2. Counseling (at home): Our counselors provide professional psychological services to children. They assess the child’s functioning using various established tests. Then with the help of the parents and other professionals in the team they formulate an effective intervention strategy aiming to elicit the best possible outcome.
  3. Special education (at home): Our special educators are trained professionals dealing with the academic needs of the child’s overall development. They address the child’s individual differences and needs in order to meet the demands of the curriculum. They cater to the child’s individual needs by organizing learning outside the classroom in a non conventional manner. .
  4. Workshops: At KNACK we believe in increasing awareness and bring enthusiasts closer by means of tailor made workshops addressing the needs of the audience. We wish to promote and broaden our horizons in various areas pertaining to children and adolescents. Our team of experts aim to interact with a number of professionals as well as budding professionals catering to child care. Position: Assistant or Associate Professor of Counselor Education, with background experience and expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in Counselor Education and related areas. Advise, teach, and mentor doctoral and masters students. Maintain an active program of scholarship and research. Pursue external funding and provide professional and university service.

2015 Visiting Professionals Program
The application process for the 2015 Visiting Professionals Program is now open until February 20. Please use this link to apply. The program is currently open to professionals working in India, China, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The Women’s Land Rights Visiting Professional Program, generously funded by the Ford Foundation and the River Star Foundation, cultivates a network of grassroots activists, government officials, NGO leaders, researchers, and academics strongly committed to strengthening women’s land rights.
The program begins with an intensive six-week training conducted at Landesa’s headquarters in Seattle.
This experience is intended to boost participants’ capabilities by
  • Enhancing their understanding of the challenges to strengthening women’s land rights by identifying what the problems are and how they fit into the larger picture, both in relation to other development issues and to what is taking place in other geographic or political regions
  • Expanding the set of options, approaches, and potential solutions they can consider by learning from what has been tried in other settings, by learning from solutions to different-but-related problems, by becoming part of a network of colleagues who can act as a resource, and by being encouraged to think creatively
  • Improving their effectiveness at addressing the challenges of securing women’s land rights by strengthening their leadership, managerial, and communication skills
Upon completing the training, participants receive project development support from Landesa staff as well as access to an online network platform through which staff and participants can continue discussing and sharing resources on women’s land rights.
