University of Technology Sydney (UTS) seeks to
appoint an outstanding academic leader to the role of Head of Discipline,
Clinical Psychology, part of the wider Graduate School of Health (GSH).
Reporting to the Head, Graduate School of Health,
the position is responsible for the establishment of the new discipline area of
Clinical Psychology and ensuring its success. Through exceptional leadership
and management, the candidate will align excellence in research, teaching and
external engagement, to ensure the highest quality practice led program is
offered to UTS students.
With an emphasis on developing a practice-based
discipline, it is imperative that the candidate hold a PhD relevant to the
School and, additionally, that s/he be endorsed, or eligible for endorsement,
as a Clinical Psychologist in Australia. S/He will demonstrate a solid track
record in research, coupled with the ability to foster and mentor the research
capabilities of others.
A strategic and innovative leader, s/he will
possess excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to engaging
collaboratively with other senior academics across the University. The capacity
to be forward thinking and creative is critical to ensuring the discipline’s
success and a strong alignment with UTS’s values and culture is essential.
