This is our pleasure and proud privilege to announce that the Department of Psychology and the
Department of Applied Psychology of University of Calcutta are going to celebrate the Hundredth Year of
Psychology in India by organizing a Centenary Conference on Psychology. The Conference will be held
from 9th to 11th October, 2015 in Kolkata.
The Department of Psychology at the University of Calcutta, established in 1915, was the first modern
Psychology Department in India. Therefore, we are celebrating 100 years of Psychology in the University
of Calcutta as well. Thus, this conference is one of our most cherished events. We seek the help and
participation of all psychologists in India to make this conference a memorable event.
We heartily welcome students, academics and professionals from all spheres of Psychology and related
disciplines, in India and abroad, to participate in the historical event.
The theme of the conference is ‘Psychology and Challenges of the Developing World’. Kindly see attached

This is a preliminary announcement only and Call for Abstracts, along with requesting you all to
prepare for enjoying the old and fascinating city of Kolkata this autumn. We have attached preliminary
information on abstract submission and registration. Further information and details about the
